Onboarding Hotel Partners
Bizly, Inc.
July - August 2016
Bizly is an on-demand meeting space platform, connecting hotels with unused conference rooms with business professionals looking for high quality meeting space. I developed the user experience of hotel onboarding.
Project included: wireframes, interaction design
PROJECT GOALS
Craft easy-to-use yet thorough onboarding experience for new meeting space providers
Encourage engagement with clean design and straight-forward flow
Wireframes
As a startup, Bizly had a small number of hotel providers at the outset, and most were input into the system manually. As growth increase, the need became apparent for a self-service experience that the administrators of incoming hotels could use to provide their venue information. Conversations with our partner relations team along with the Excel forms used for this task prior to this tool gave insight into the information collection requirements. Each property would be pre-vetted by Bizly and then sent a custom link with the very basics (hotel name and location) pre-filled that would launch the administrator into the onboarding process. Each step is isolated, collecting content incrementally and with clear instructions. The system was intended to be autosave and to be accessible by multiple users (in the case that various hotel employees were required to provide the necessary information). Below you'll see a selection of the wireframes that came from re-envisioning of the existing process. Each hotel has a large amount of information to provide, but the flow is mean to be digestible, dynamic, and easy to follow. A full clickable prototype can be found here.
Interaction Design
Along with the flow & wireframes, I developed some style guidelines for the implementation. This included the animated transition between steps. A user could either hit "Enter" after provided the requested piece of data, or click the "Next" button to advance along the path. Simultaneously, the progress bar would fill, as shown to the right.
